Getting paid by the minute. Edit buddy. Get to the point in the first few seconds so we can get off this video or listen
Question for you Dear TF blogger. I drive my TM3 in cold climate and so do you! I just wondering if you have seen with AP on that degrades due to weather visibility it happen to me driving in Ontario the other day and I saw a warning msg AP performance degraded due to weather on Nav on AP and car could not suggest lane changes? So just wondering about the sensors should be environmentally protected?
Yup. I have seen the same thing on AP.
Totally agree that the Model 3 is amazing to travel in. My wife and I (and our 75 pound pitbull) just completed a round trip from the Denver area to Salt Lake City. We took the route through the Colorado Rockies (I-70), through snow and VERY cold temps (below zero at some points) and we had zero issues with anything. Autopilot made the trip SOOO much nicer (we've driven this route many times in other cars). We only had to charge twice on each leg of the trip despite the temps, 45 mins average each time. We have the Dual Motor long range AWD version with performance snow tires. It handled impeccable well in the very winter weather on the drive and for the week we were in SLC. Amazing car!
+bev Power Pirelli Sottozero II's (same size as the 18" Michelin's that came on it).
Jay Jay , what tires are you using?
Thanks Matt! Have a healthy and happy new year!
Maybe it's just me. But that whole video you were driving I'm hearing more tire noise than I've noticed in other videos. Is one of your right tires out of balance? Tread life low?... Maybe flat spots from sitting??? Just a worbbling sound the whole time. I only hear one instance of it so I'm guessing it isn't flat spots
I used your code to order a model 3!
Thanks Man! When did you use it?
Question: Is the $7500 tax credit thing only for people who make under a certain amount of money each year, or does it not matter? Like if you make $50k, $100k, $500k, or $1M a year, would you get the $7500 return, or would it be less of a return if you make more money. Thank you in advance!
As long as your federal tax liability is over $7,500 you qualify for the credit.
Man The way you are putting miles on the car you'll be out of war by next year. At least. Basic warranty
Yup. That's what it looks like.
I don't know who were that people who complained about your long videos, but i was really enjoying to your videos mostly because of your camera position, from dat point it's most enjoyable to watch and second reason is your topic that nobody talking about, i watching to ''Bjõrn, now you know, 1Tesla, hyperchange TV, like tesla, what is inside, teslanomics (Ben)" but they are differents from each other as you, so i will glad if you continuing to provide your original videos with little bit longer time duration than it's currently. ❤👍 (with respect from Georgia)
Similar story. Just drove from eastern PA to SW IN, a distance of 800 mi's. We drove our other ICE car, which is a terrific ride and has many bells & whistles that the Model 3 does not. However, I really missed and struggled switching cars. (I left the engine running and forgot to lock the car several times)and the lower stress of being able to drive the long distance on Interstate highways on autopilot is a big factor. For the difference in cost, my ICE averaged about 20mpg and with gas averaging $2.05 it cost me a bit over $160 for gas. I made the similar trip a couple months prior in the Tesla and it cost me about $65-70 in Supercharging ( I was able to destination charge for $0, so . . ). So, less than a hundred bucks in Gas savings with gas so inexpensive now. But, this does not consider the cost for the resulting ICE dealer maintenance which other than tires, I would not have with the Tesla.
How much trip time difference did you see on this "gas" trip vs when you took the Tesla?
I can hear a juddering sound as you drive. Slows as the car does. Is it horizontal grooves on the road? As you slow to the end of the video I think it’s most audible. Hopefully nothing. Wearing Sony WH-1000 xm2.
Why couldn’t the gas powered cars in your caravan fill up while you supercharged? I guess there were no gas stations near the charging stations.
Great video, Matt! Happy New Year!
After you have a Filet Mignon you can't enjoy a Burger King again.
Matt, we had the same feeling after driving our M3 MR from WI to OK and back. I wouldn't even think about using my wife's Prius C to make a long-distance drive anymore - too big of a compromise.
Cost of gas vs. electricity for the round trip ?
Lots versus little.....
Hey Mom, I am on my way home just stopping for some electrons on the way .
I know the sun glasses are part of your YouTube persona but looked like you really didn't need them on that rainy day... Still waiting to see what the Model Y is before replacing my wife's Subaru Outback. Interesting comments about Model 3 vs Ford Fusion. I have a Fusion Hybrid and has been a great car (wish it was a plug in Hybrid though). Nice thing on road trips is that it still has a full size gas tank but with the Hybrid can go about 650 miles between fill ups.
So the chargers have been packed these past few days.... But the wait is not that bad. Start at 430am and you beat traffic and charge que. You made the "mistake" of not taking the Tesla :) who else has done Florida to Maryland in a day in their s 85 and felt like they only drove only 8 hrs?
YouTube needs something higher than thumbs up. Like a gold star or something. Maybe give users one gold star per day to give-out. This would be my gold star for today.
I have had similar experiences in my LEAF, but only for in-town trips, of course, it's a 2015, 24kwh, no DC fast charge port vehicle; but I paid less than $14k for it, with 4k miles - screaming deal in my book, since it meets all of my mobility requirements. I can relate to the comment about switching between ICE (we have an ICE minivan for whole family trips (four kids, all in car seats) and electric. It's night and day, and feels like you're stepping back into the stone age. Sometimes I think ugh, awful, I can't believe I ever drove something like this. It shakes, rattles, and I guess rolls, but how primitive. Enjoy that M3.
Make them wait while you charge next time or just separate. It’s worth it. Safer and more pleasant.
Hi matt. How is the epa range vs real world?
EPA range matches real world for in town driving.
